During the month of March, Paris becomes the capital of drawing. Various drawing salons are held during this time, and many galleries exhibit works on paper. It is within this context that Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard is pleased to present a collective exhibition of sixteen of the gallery's artists. The exhibition features a great variety of works, like that of commercial art fair, presented in the two gallery spaces. In this spirit ,we present each work with its informational card, including its price. The ambition of this exhibition is to emphasize the importance and variety of contemporary drawing through a dialogue that combines aesthic as well as technical connections among the selected artist.

Works on Paper, as selected by Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard, combines the works of : Christophe Avella-Bagur, Benjamin Edwards, Beverly Fishman, Sven-Ole Frahm, Carl Fudge, Ron Gorchov, Heervé Heuzé, Stefan Hoenerloh, Shirley Kaneda, Alain Kirili, Judy Pfaff, Paul Henry Ramirez, Adam Ross, Alice Stepanek & Steve Maslin and Christophe Wedding. Despite the extreme stylistic diversity of these artist, a dialogue is established by affinity between selected works.

 

The major piece is unquestionably a large work on paper by Judy Pfaff, Untitled 2008, which resembles a painting-sculpture. The materials combined in this work are extremel variegated. It is an exceptional piece due to its creative freedom and the poetry that it conveys.Ron Gorchov and Alain Kirili's works on paper are excellent introductions to these two artists of the New York art scene. For the first time, the works on paper of Beverly Fishman and the artist couple Alice Stepanek & Steven Maslin's czn be viewed. Additionally, Stefan Hoenerloh's drawings , which are few and rare because he has refused to sell any drawings for rthe past fifteen years, can be seen and purchased here.

 

At the request of our collectors, we have selected specific periods of certain artists' work such as : Carl Fudge's silkscreen prints from 2001-2002, Hervé Heuzé's watercolors from 2006, selected watercolors by Adam Ross from 2004, Paul Henry Ramirez's large and colorful drawings from 2007, Sven - Ole frahm 's cut-collages and Christoph Wedding's oil on paper works, both from 2008.

 

Conversely, the exibition  presents the full magnificence of Christophe Avella-Bagur 's graphic works in many different techniques and from several periods in his carrer. The exibition also features two watercolor series by Shirley Kaneda  that aptly show the evolution of her paintings . Finally, despite their rarity, the exibition also presents the works on paper of Benjamin Edwards and Risa Sato.
